Summary: it isn't until you find her embrace that you truly find God.
every breath we drew was Hallelujah
You are a priest of the Catholic church, and it isn’t until you’re in her arms that you truly find God. You hold her; kiss her neck, the stretching tendons, her fluttering heartbeat, her soft breathing. Her back arches and her breathing shudders and gasps as you press against each other, her hair soft gold in the dark, dusty light of your church office. You hold her tightly, breathe against her skin, her exposed collarbones and press your lips to her shoulders. Her shirt has been slipped off, her bra undone.
When you move inside her, you hear her say your name, against your ear and her arms around you, and you hear someone, something-hallelujah, hallelujah-and know this is where God intended you to be. Here, with her, her fingers clinging to your shoulders, surrounded by her scent of lavender, of warmth. You kiss her, over and over, until she’s shedding tears that land on your cheeks as you move together; you whisper to her as if you’re praying, and you think-you know-up until now, nothing has ever meant as much as this. Her scent, her heat, her skin: you spent your life waiting for this.
The heat of her skin, her lips, her dark eyes and your love, and everything is quiet in the falling evening. Your office is mahogany paneled, covered in old books, stuffy and ancient, and she is the only thing that shines. Her skin is pale, bare, and you kiss every inch. The only sin you can think of is leaving her. She clings to you, says she loves you and she kisses you, kisses you and you know you’ll never be able to feel whole with anyone else. You become one and the world falls away in a muted silence.
