sometimes it scares me that some american women believe all english men to be like hugh grant. i think they need to see jonathan rhys meyers in gormenghast to maybe understand that all english men aren't cute like hugh grant.
it's really quite amusing that you said that. i discovered gormenghast quite early in life and fell in love with jonathan rhys-meyers. it was actually one random showing of it on a public broadcast channel, and then i spent loads of time trying to find the dvd in stores, which was quite tricky. but yes, jonathan was one of the earlier crushes.
unfortunately, i think all of these romantic comedy leads for the most part are horrifically unrealistic, and not only do americans look at english men that way, but i think that perhaps women are looking at men for this perfect romance like in the films. and it's not that there can't actually be a wonderful happiness, but i think there are these ideals set in people's heads and nothing will ever be quite good enough.
I wish I had a model as well, but I take most pictures at impossible times of the day, like 2 am. No one wants to stay up that late. I don't think anyone could not cry during Titanic at some point.
OH, and obviously, your pictures are absolutely glorious and a constant source of inspiration.
danke. i almost wrote that as well, that even if i did have a model, it wouldn't work, as the majority of photoshoot inspirations come to me in the middle of the night. these were taken at around 2am, i believe. i was patiently waiting for my father to go to bed so he wasn't confused by camera noises going off in the bathroom.
If you liked Ella Enchanted (which i've never seen, by the way, i'm just guessing here) then you should definitely watch Nicholas Nickleby if you haven't.
I also feel your pain about having to do self portraits all the time. I'm still waiting for them to come up with some strange camera that lets you take snapshots from your mind like photographs.
Don't let anyone ever tell you that you're not beautiful, including yourself.
thank you! lots of film recommendations today. i shall add it to my film queue. it's only a matter of time until scientists begin hooking up cameras and things to parts of our eyes and brains. my close friend, mollie, actually has a project to do once she gets her degree. it involves using cameras to cure blindness, and is actually quite extraordinary.

i'm feeling in a film-watching mode...preferably 'a bout de souffle' (breathless).
