My Application

  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? I would chose to become either a librarian or a book shop owner. When I was younger the other children tormented me and made my life miserable. I had barely any friends, and they were outcasts just like myself. To forget my pain and loneliness I started reading. Now once I become involved within a book, it is almost impossible to pull me out. Books are my escape, they are my best friend. I love getting lost within a story. I favor mostly romance, I am a romantic deep down, there is nothing like a great romance. I love being involved within a story, the more descriptive the better. When I read a book, I want to become part of that world.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why? Well I had picked History of Magic, but once I though more on the subject I have decided that it would be more entertaining and involved to teach charms. I think this particular subject if highly useful and helpful, especially for everyday use.

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not? I don't like to participate in sports, I'm near sighted and I have terrible aim. I'm out of shape, overweight and not at all athletic. Plus the idea of getting sweaty and dirty doesn't sit well with me. I would much rather be indoors doing something on my own than surrounded by a bunch of people. So no I would not put my name in the goblet.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why? I am a loner, I don't like huge crowds, they make me feel panicky and overwhelmed. I would be some sort of feline. They are independent and anti-social, they tolerate people and mainly like to left to their own devices. There are times when I crave physical contact however I would rather seek it out than have someone be too clingy or try to overwhelm me with their presence.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why? I still feel I identify most with Neville Longbottom. Like him I am rather timid and shy, but I do have my moments where my inner strength and courage shine through. Even though I have both parents and they were pretty active in my life, I was mainly raised by my Dad's Mom, especially while my parents worked, I would stay at her house, I even had my own room there. I have always been apart from others my age mainly because of my lack in confidence, however as I got older I started to gain more self confidence and be more outspoken especially concerning my morals and ethics.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised? I would see my Grandparents on my Mom's side. My family on my Mom's side at one time, was very close, very loving and supportive of each other. However once my Grandmother passed away everything fell apart. Siblings started fighting, petty jealousy raged, and everyone drifted away. When my Grandfather got sick with cancer, even though it was sad, it brought us all back together again. We became supportive of each other, and did everything we could to make his life happier and fuller. Sadly he passed away and left behind major complications. Because of certain things said, and actions done, the family was torn apart separated by a huge rift of jealousy and resentment for each other. Now family traditions no longer exist, we all no longer get together for Holidays, and it seems birthdays are non existent. I miss the family gatherings, I remember once at Christmas everyone showed up and we hung up 18 stockings because of that. I don't even know what happened to my stocking my Grandma made me. As of now I may get to see my cousins once or twice a year, I haven't seen my Aunt Robin in almost two years now and we used to be very close, closer than I was to my own Mother. I just miss my family.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it? I would help my parents with their medical bills, and eventually purchase a house for myself. I would also travel the world, going places I have only read about in books.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now? When I was a child I really wanted to become a veterinarian because of my love for animals. Sadly I realized that one has to be skilled in the areas science and biology, which I am not. As of right now, I am still unsure as to what I would want to do with my life. I have so many different interests it is really hard for me to chose just one particular field of study. Some day's it seems easier to just flip a coin or something.

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it? I would invent a potion called Addiction Away. If one has an addiction to say, cigarettes or alcohol, just one dose of Addiction Away, and your addiction is gone! I would create this for those that have a weak will power when it comes to certain things, considering I can't say no to smoking myself.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus? I had said my boggart was myself. I didn't elaborate and perhaps I should have. What I meant by that is I am afraid of myself in a multitude of ways. I am afraid of failing not just my family or friends, but I am terrified of personal failure.I am afraid that I won't amount to anything in life, that everything my parents have done to improve my life would be for nothing.

  • What do you look for in a friend? To be considered my friend one has to be honest and trustworthy. I don't mind a person with common interests, that is encouraged, however to make things interesting differences are welcomed as well. Also my prospective friend needs to understand or at least try to understand that I do prefer to be alone at times, large crowds overwhelm and drain me, I am more content to stay home and read, or just be one with my solitude. They need to be ok with this and not take offense. Its not that I don't want a friendship, but most times I am content to just .. be.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people? It drives me to the brink of insanity when people don't try to keep an open mind for different points of view or perspectives. It also makes me angry when people don't understand something they become threatened or afraid of it. I just wish everyone would at least attempt to keep an open mind and not discriminate others because of their differences. Also slow people, especially in a line or while driving make me want to stab myself with a fork. I am a very impatient person and it irks me to no end when someone is slow, I just want to knock them out of the way I do it myself.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I may be lazy and procrastinate but when I have a passion for something, I go above and beyond to obtain it or make it happen. So I would say my passion it a great quality.
My ability to keep an open mind, especially to those different from myself.
My tolerance and acceptance of different ideas and cultures.
I am a great keeper of secrets. I do not tolerate any gossip, therefore I am the main person my friends come to when they need to confide in someone.
I tend to have off beat and quirky thoughts, and this goes towards creative thinking. I feel that since my ways of thinking aren't the norm, I can see solutions to certain problems easier and faster than others.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
I procrastinate, I am self admitting to being extremely lazy.
I am impatient, and get frustrated very easily.
I posses a quick and fiery temper, I seriously have flown off the handle over the smallest things.
Sometimes my ways of thinking can come off as irrational and sometimes illogical.
I can be selfish and greedy especially when I feel I deserve something, whether or not I actually do deserve it.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: To stand up for what you believe is right or fair regardless of other people's opinions or thoughts on the matter.
    • Loyalty: For one to be supportive and emotionally available for another without dishonest or unjust intentions.
    • Intelligence: Any person that posses the ability to understand complex issues, adept to certain environments, can accept change no matter the extent of the particular change, and can engage in various forms of reasoning.
    • Ambition: Ambition is closely intertwined with motivation. One's personal drive to be successful in their own eyes is motivation, which in effect can be viewed as ambition or how ambitious they may be by other people. Depending on how far an individual may push themselves, this may project how ambitious they appear to an outsider.
