What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I would really like to work for the Ministry of Magic - maybe even be Minister but the Department of Mysteries really sounds appealing to me. I’ve always had a place in my heart for mysteries and being an Unspeakable would be great. I don’t really know what is it they do but that is why I love it. Its all done in secrecy and to be a part of it would be awesome. And just the whole I know something you don’t is so tempting.
If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
Potions. The subject may seem pretty simple for some people but I really think it takes much more than just cutting a few beetles. Its much more than just following a few instructions, it takes some great concentration. You can make anything from a few simple ingredients; put a stopper at death, make people spill their darkest and fool so many people by turning physically into anyone you want. One subject, so many possibilities.
This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age.
Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
No. No, I will not. I would never put myself into anything without knowing what it is; I have a thing for always being in control - in everything. I would never put my life on the line, even if it meant eternal glory; my life is the most important. Its dangerous, pretty tempting but I value my life more than anything.
If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
It would possibly be a cheetah. They are fast creatures with great agility, speed, strength and power. Cheetahs are independent and can catch whatever it is they want with ease. They are always in control and are great strategists. I could always protect myself and don’t need others to do my dirty work and I can always intimidate and influence anyone into getting what I want. And who wouldn’t want to be the fastest creature on Earth.
What HP character do you identify with most and why?
I’d say that I identify mostly with Hermione Granger. She’s proud of herself and nothing can put her down. Hermione has a strong personality; she does what she wants without a care in the world. She isn’t intimidated by anyone and she’d do anything she sets her mind to even if everyone around her thought it was ridiculous and/or impossible. Hermione is a determined, intelligent girl with a strong sense of identity.
What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
I’d see myself at Vatican City with my boyfriend beside me. I’m not a religious person, in fact, I’m an atheist but when I read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, all the wishes that I had in mind were wiped off. And even before reading the book, I’ve always wanted to visit this place. Art has always been something that I love and Rome is just filled with it. I want to see all the Seven Wonders of the World. Christianity has always intrigued me. Religion has always interested me but somehow, I’m never satisfied with the answers it brings. So yeah, I’d love to roam St Peter’s Basilica and St Peter’s Square even though I don’t even know who this guy is.
If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
Well, first of all, I’d by myself a house with a basketball and tennis court. It wouldn’t be too big because only my boyfriend and I would live in but it would also have a Science lab. I would then go shopping and probably buy a whole bookstore and some tech stuff. If I still have money then, I would visit Rome. My one wish is to visit the Vatican and everything around it. I find it often spooky with its old buildings but I truly admire it. I would also go to Paris and then look for Alan Rickman and have a chat with him and maybe even more. And if my money hasn’t wasted by then, I’d go looking for Eminem. I’ve liked him since I was thirteen and I would really like it if he took off his clothes and showed me his tattoos. Call me whatever you like but I often find myself fantasizing about him and how he’d look without any clothes on. But of course before all that, (this is going to sound so cheesy) I would book a room in the most romantic hotel on Earth and spend a month (or maybe two or three or four) there with my boyfriend. I’d spent the money all on myself. No one in my family really needs it and if I gave it to charity, what use is it going to be? It’s not like it’ll solve world hunger.
What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
When I was a kid I remember placing all my toys on chairs and pretending that I was a teacher. But I also wanted to be a ballerina/dancer. I stopped going to classes when I was about twelve and went into reading and such. So, I would like to become a teacher, but not a Maths one. I’d really like to work with Science and English.
If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
Tough one. It would be a spell that would sort your thoughts. I sometimes find myself thinking too much and even thinking about thinking. Crazy, yeah. But what the spell would do is organize everything in your mind. When closing your eyes, you’d sort of see cabinets/files labelled with memories or thoughts. You would then be able to browse through your mind in peace, without any disruption. Sometimes when you try to think about one thing, other things would just suddenly pop up, but with the spell it’ll block everything and once you’re satisfied, you’ll be free to solve something else.
I think I’d call it, the Managing Minds spell. You’d sort of have a password to it; it all depends on the person. Whatever the password is, you whisper it and then be able to start organizing.
If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
I’m not sure really. It may turn into me in the middle of the ocean, alone and drowning. I have a fear of water, whenever I see large amounts of it, like rivers and oceans, I freak out. I have no idea on how to make that funny. Hmm, well maybe instead of me drowning, it may turn into me getting bigger and bigger. I’d then be larger than the water and I’d be able to suck it through some vacuum. Or I could turn the water into jelly and instead of drowning; I’d just sway along with it.
What do you look for in a friend?
Mainly understanding. If they understand me, then I don’t think there’d be any trouble or misunderstanding. Some common interests between us would also be good. Anyway, I get along with most people though I don’t really like much company. I’d be fine to stay at home on a Saturday night, alone enjoying a movie or book. Most of my friends though are pretty outrageous, have ideas that would get you laughing and aren’t afraid to act silly but are very intelligent at the same time. I’m pretty sarcastic so anyone with a decent sense of humour would get along with me.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
I hate it when people idolize celebrities and such. You can admire and have crushes on them but you can’t really try to be them. It drives me insane when I ask girls what they want to be and they answer with, Paris Hilton. I also hate people who are hypocrites. I sometimes just want to kill people that act one way with a group of friends and completely different to another. I just don’t get why people can’t be themselves. But the most thing that annoys me is when people complain about not being able to achieve their goals when they haven’t even stepped out of their homes. Some people just sit all day waiting for an opportunity to come by. Why don’t they just step up and go looking for one. You’ve got to seize the opportunity and never let it go. I dislike it very much when people just give up.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
Self-control: I control myself, even though it’s a tough battle, I do. Sometimes my body refuses to do something, like wake up early after a late night but I have a way of gritting my teeth and dragging it up. I’ve always had control over everything I do since I was really young and now, it’s really simple for me. I’m not a risk-taker and I’d usually just think things out and if they benefit me, I’d do it and if they don’t, I’d force myself not to get into it even if it may be something fun. Why bother wasting time on something that would get me nowhere in life.
Imaginative: I have a crazy imagination. I’d have dreams so weird that I even freak myself out sometimes. I turn everything I do into a love story or something of the sort; it brings spark and excitement into my life. I can just make up things as I go and even though they might sound crazy, they’re very entertaining sometimes and very believable.
Independent: I’m not afraid to stand alone and do whatever it is I want. I don’t need to depend on anyone and I don’t think I’ve ever asked anyone for help. I grew up as a free child, there were limits but my parents let me do anything I set my mind to. I was brought up to listen to myself only.
Organized: I love been neat. I was a messy kid but now, organization is everything. I’ve solved a lot of problems been neat, especially at school. I’m the person who’d always check their schedule for a free time. Time is precious and I just can’t afford to waste it.
Sense of humor: I make people around me laugh and usually see the funny side of everything. I can make a joke out of everything. I’m not afraid to act silly or dorky, I like having fun and I just don’t care what people think of me. I often chuckle at everything I see.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Stubborn: My middle name. Once I have an idea or decide on something, I stick to it. Even if the whole world might be against me and plotting my death, I wouldn’t change my mind. If I wanted something, I’d do it. And there’s no stopping me. Being independent is sort of the reason on why I’m stubborn. Dunno, one thing leads to another.
Selfish:I tend to always slip my hand in and steal the large piece of the cake. I think everyone is selfish in a way; everyone wants whats best for them. I like my own things and I hate when people use them or take them. I’ll admit, I’m not a sharing sort of person. I hate been that way, but I just can’t help it.
Sarcastic: I usually joke about things, I’m not much of a serious person and I love twisting the way people say things. I tell it like it is. My sarcastic manner has got me a few enemies and a slightly bad reputation. My sharp tongue mixed with my biting sarcasm usually gets me in trouble. I guess sarcasm is a part of me. Without it, I’d be … empty. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to rid myself of it but most people that I know find this a negative thing about me. The people that don’t understand my quirky sense of humor often get offended.
Impatient: I have no streak of patience in me. When I ask for something, I want it in the second. I get frustrated really easily and often blow up at people faces saying things that I might regret later on. I just can’t handle it, I get really angry.
Un-trusting: I don’t trust people; it takes a real long time for someone to really know who I am. I hide a lot of things and would only reveal myself to the people that I feel relate to me. I have only a few friends who I confide with, the rest of the people I hang out with are just there for company. I often find it easier to talk to people older than me by a year or two. The people my age just don’t understand and especially where I’m from (Australia), I can scarcely find any that do.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage:
To always be true to yourself no matter how many people think you’re worthless. Not being afraid of anything is not courageous and having courage isn’t just jumping blindly into things. To me, being courageous is to always be true to yourself and never give up your morals/beliefs/culture for anyone. Having courage is also to overcome your fears.
Loyalty:
To show a person that you’d be ready to catch them if they fall. Being loyal to a person doesn’t have to mean that you’re exactly like them; it means that you’d always be on their side even though they may be losing the battle.
Intelligence:
To understand the knowledge you have and how to use it. Intelligence doesn’t necessarily mean being some brain like Einstein but it means that you see things from many angles and think of their advantages and disadvantages first before jumping into it. Being intelligent is to always have an active mind that would think for you. When you’re intelligent, you don’t need others thinking for you.
Ambition:
To me, being ambitious is to have a strong desire for something; you’d go to any means to achieve it. No obstacle would stand in your way; you’d just see the thing you crave for and overcome anything that gets in the way. You would never be satisfied with anything unless you reach your target. To have ambition, you need determination.
