ACCIDENTALLY APPLIED UNDER MY CHARACTER JOURNAL
lovely_anora this is my real application!! *facepalm
- What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? OH MAN. I would definitely want to be an Auror. I mean, I don't care HOW hard it is. Defend and protect the wizarding world whilst using a wand to do so? Say no more. At all. Cause I'm totally there. Also, you're definitely being constantly challenged and tested every day, and I can guarantee that the job would not be the same every day. Unless you got stuck at a desk job, in which case I would totally like, lodge a formal complaint. Cause I'd want to be out in the field, and I'd drag Moody back out there cause he's AWESOME like that. Together? We'd PWN the Dark Wizards. Hahaha. Oh man. I think that's detailed enough?
- If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why? Flying? Can you teach that? I'm going to assume you can because of the flying lesson..but I'm not too sure only because I can't remember if that was in the book as well as the movie? Or was it just in the movie? Well in any case, I'd want Madam Hooch's job. Why you ask? Because you get unlimited access to hot sweaty boys, (hey, I'm sixteen here) and well, your job consists of flying, and blowing on a whistle. I mean, hey, whistles? I'm in.
- This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not? Hmm, as much as I'd like to say that I would, I probably wouldn't. I just value my own life a margin more than 'eternal glory.' Now you may think that would contradict my wanting to be an Auror. But it's not. Cause first I want to MAKE it to being an adult to BECOME an Auror. Make sense? I think it does. In my brain. Basically, I'd overstress about the tasks, and although the money would be a bonus, I'd have plans to somehow strike it rich in the near future because I'm unrealistic like that.
- If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why? Eee, I'd probably be a puffin. Why you ask? Well I love the cold, I can only stand heat to a certain degree. They are not very graceful on land, but they are terrific swimmers. And although I am a terrific swimmer, I still think I'm quite graceful on land, because I am a dancer plzkthnx. Hee. They can also fly, which I think would be splendid. I believe myself to be quite versatile, and these babies can fly AND swim. F'real. So yeah, definitely a puffin. Also, they also communicate largely through body language and movements, which I tend to do a lot (I wave my hands frantically when I start getting excited in conversations, XD)
- What HP character do you identify with most and why? Homan, this application has got HARDER since the last time I filled this out. Well, I'd probably have to say I identify largely with Luna. Although I believe myself to be a little more realistic and outgoing than Luna, I find her unusual behaviour not so unusual myself. Mainly the reason I can identify myself with her so much is that she's completely random like me. Her creativity and her self-confidence to be the way she is (ie, the ROARING lion hat) is me to a degree. I'm probably a little less spacey than she is though, haha.
- What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised? Oh man! HARD! If I looked into the Mirror of Erised, chances are I'd find myself looking at myself with a load of materialistic, superficial possessions, I'm not gonna lie. If I were to go beyond that though, and touch on the realistic side of things I would most likely see myself surrounded by people I love, and they would all be smiling and laughing and at peace with one another, and I would most definitely see my Uncle Cal, my Pappa, and my Nanna who all passed away. In my Mirror of Erised, they would be alive. Especially my Uncle Cal, because he was my Godfather and the greatest person I ever knew. He also died when I was very young (seven years old) so my time with him was cut so short.
- If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it? SHOPPING! Haha, no. I would buy myself first off: a super-computer with a gazillion gigs of memory, and the Sims2. I would also buy myself a massive TV. And one of those amazing $2,000 cameras that take pictures like *click**click**click* and are big and black and have that MASSIVE lens. Basically I'd go all out in the electronics department. And if it were possible, I'd buy myself a cure for PROCRASTINATION!
- What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now? Haha, when I was in second grade, we did a unit on Marine Biology in Science, and we talked about the manatees and how they were endangered. I vowed that someday I would save them. Sadly, when I found out the amount of schooling and the (very small) amount of financial benefits it takes to become a Marine Biologist, I decided to switch career paths. I realized I wasn't as dedicated as I once was. I've also considered law, but now I'm switching towards optometry. Basically I'm trying to be realistic for myself, but if I could pick my career, I would travel to Europe and be a tour guide. Sadly, that job doesn't hold much promise for myself, but it would be nice to do for a summer or so. Basically, if my career could be "travelling" I'd definitely pick that.
- If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it? Hmm, this reminds me of a question I had in Science 10 when we got to create our own element for the periodic table. I named mine Tyrannasaurus Rexium and it could make people grow WAY HUGE and wait...where was I? Spells, right. Okay so, I'm not feeling particularily creative at the moment. I'd make a potion that could heal any injury, physical OR mental, with just one drop *totally didn't steal that from Narnia..I thought it was a cool idea okay??* I would call it Lucy's Potion because I love Lucy and Narnia and yeah. I would use it to heal people of course! Very handy in combat if you're an Auror. Well I think so anyways.
- If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus? Hmm. It's hard to think of what I'm the most afraid of. If I had to really pick just one thing, I'd say it would have to be a dead, decaying body that had supernatural powers to kill me with its stare of DEATH. And when I said "Riddikulus" it would...explode. Or, um, ew, nevermind. When I cast the counter-spell it would...become armless, legless, and have no eyes. Because then it couldn't hurt me, and if it had to be comical..it would have a clown wig. *ded*
- What do you look for in a friend? Somebody who I can feel natural with, who doesn't talk incessantly about themselves, or turn everything into a competition, and who has the same warped sense of humour as me. Honestly, it doesn't take much to be my friend. So long as I feel I can trust you, and you can do the same with me, then I'd say we're set ;)
- What trait most annoys you about other people? Overly competitive self-abosorbed people. It TIRES me to no end. I have this 'friend' who is exactly this, and I can't STAND her. I mean, it's not like I'm not interested in what happens in her life, but I don't need to know every SINGLE detail. I feel as though she doesn't care about my life, and is constantly bragging about her marks, how amazing of a curler she is, etc. etc. It just pushes all my buttons and annoys me to noo end. OH and I don't like food-stealers. HATE that.
- What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? Hmm...well.
1.Sense of humour -- I have always been known as a 'funny' individual. I tend to think it is my goal in life to make people laugh. I love when people laugh at something I've said or done. Truly brightens my day. I love being laughed at. XD.
2.Organization -- Man, I am a bit of an organizational freak. My textbooks are COVERED in a jubilee of post-it notes. Same with novels I have to read for my IB English class..Post-it note CENTRAL. I don't have trouble keeping neat notes / room / dance bag etc. and I think organizational qualities are definitely life skills that will help me out in the long run.
3.Outgoing Personality -- A few months ago, I would probably not have included this trait, but that was before I moved here to White Rock. I always considered myself an outgoing individual, but never counted it as a positive trait until I realized how much having that bit of confidence to talk to people you hardly know is definitely a life skill that will always prove to be beneficial. Being naturally outgoing has helped me meet people and feel more comfortable in any environment.
4.Optimism -- I am a definite optimist. Whenever things are bad, I have a habit of saying "Well at least THIS didn't happen" etc. and although people get annoyed with it, being optimistic keeps me motivated to get things accomplished instead of letting small things bring me down.
5.Dancing! -- Had to include this one. I've been dancing since I was three and I loveloveLOVE it. Especially now that I'm in a new studio, it's my release, I think I would go insane without it. And at the moment my tap skills are MADLY IMPROVING, YO. Oh yes, I am so gangster.
- What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? Hee..where do I begin?
1.PROCRASTINATION -- Like right now, I should totally be doing Bio homework, studying for finals, pretty much ANYTHING but filling out this application. But hey! Lookatme! Procrastination has been my ultimate downfall.
2.Lack of self-discipline -- This is why diets have never worked for me. Or getting up early. I have absolutely no self-discipline. I believe that it's a valuable skill that can be learned in time, so I 'll get on that..tomorrow.
3.Lack of assertive..ness..assertion? -- I have a hard time standing up for myself, because sometimes I am just too damn nice. I will hang out with people I don't want to hang out with because I don't want to hurt their feelings. Yeah, I'm not a pushover, but sometimes I feel I could be a little more assertive.
4.I don't think before I speak -- especially when I'm angry. If I get into a fight with someone, I don't know when to stop. I'm a little like Harry, in that sense that I don't know when to keep my mouth shut. I'll get carried away sometimes..
5.Terrible time management skills -- this ties in with procrastination, but even when I'm doing something (zomg..ontask!) I'll take my time, or I'll just be really lazy and half-ass my homework, and wake up at 6:00 am to finish it, except I won't listen to my alarm and just not get my homework done..but I somehow always get it done during other classes..but STILL!
- Define in your own words the following key traits:
- Courage: Ability to fight for what you believe in, being headstrong and brave and noble at heart.
- Loyalty: Staying true to the ones you care about, putting the ones you love before materialistic superficialities (ie. if an evil overlord gave you the choice between a nice shiny new house or your family remaining alive..you would pick your family)
- Intelligence: Having a high IQ? XP..Having the passion and thirst of knowledge, and retaining that knowledge.
- Ambition: Having the drive and motivation to pursue your ultimate goal and never losing sight of that goal.
