So I just read on the Mary Sue that Kili is going to have a romance with some white elf chick. I guess Tolkien dwarves are meant to be lower-class but proudly artisan-y men, as evidenced by their burly masculinity, colorful hairstyles, artistic innovation, physical dexterity, and bad table manners. But they're too burly and physical and craft-y! Stereotypical Jews are bankers or intellectuals (or immigrants, I guess, hi Lovecraft!).

I don't think you have to take that as authoritative, even though Tolkien said it himself. He also said it was unintended and that he hated allegory. I think it's possible for an author to be not-perfectly-perceptive about their own work, especially when they're discussing things they didn't consciously put in.

I hadn't heard this before, but it makes sense. Short? Physically unattractive? Clannish? Like jewels, and skinny WASP girls because their ethnicity doesn't make those? What else could they possibly be?

No one seems to know or care what the women are up to? Wait, that's every ethnicity, amirite, John Ronald Reuel?

Doesn't the Silmarillion lay out all the theology, where the dwarves were like the gods' practice run and then they made elves? REAL SUBTLE, YOU BIG PAPIST

I forget but I think it was different gods who made dwarves and elves--didn't Aule the smith god make them without Manwe's permission or something?

Oh man, there's an Abraham and Isaac moment where Aule gets reprimanded for making the dwarves and, weeping, is about to smite them....

I was just about to say this - yeah, they're modelled after the Jews.
