You arent erased from everyone's minds the moment you're gone, in fact I can recall many conversations in which the subject of "I miss Fred" or "I wonder how Fred is" came up.
In terms of feeling like all the attention is going to Scott. In high school, I always hung around with a group of girls who were prettier, and as a result the guys always went for them. Now, I'm not saying that this is the case (I've seen you as a woman and you are DAMN pretty). Maybe your feelings of being left out are permeating your attitude as others see it.
To clarify - if you feel like you're always being left out, then maybe girls are getting a weird vibe. In any given situation have you made an effort to jump in the action? Like on your birthday, did you grab the camera and say "Hey! Me too!" Dont let what happened wtih that girl ruin your confidence. It happens to everyone and while its not fun, it certainly isnt the end of the world.
Just have fun, and if you feel left out, do what you can to jump in. Go along to lunch and have fun. Take pictures, call friends, initiate another night of partying and be your normal funny self.
I could be off base on all this, but thats a risk I'm willing to take. Bottom line - dont dwell. Jump in the action and have a good time.
