At the heart of all political stability is the balance of powers. The opposition of various powers is in all instances, the ultimate cause of what we call stability. As in Communism, economic power was subsumed under political power, so in late Capitalism it is political power that is subsumed by economic power. In both instances the result is one form or another of totalitarianism. Power is totalised in one form, monopolized by a single base, while opposition become less and less viable, leading to an escalating and accelerating imbalance and the release of forces, heretofore harmonized through opposition, into chaotic play.
