I am amazed that the world does not fall apart. Like an airplane, it is too complicated, too large, too susceptable to entropy to remain in flight.
When I walk down the street I look at the men who pass me and try to guage which ones could kick my ass in a fight and which ones I would have a chance with. I am constantly amazed that I am not continuously assaulted, insulted, cheated, robbed, raped, and otherwise humiliated and disposed of. In the middle of a pleasant conversation with some bland acquaintance I will often wonder why nothing is burning. By all rights I should have a disease.
