credited for popularizing the geostationary orbit, arthur c. clarke was also the author of '2001: a space odyssey' it was my father who introduced me to his book 'childhood's end.'

'childhood's end' is a science fiction about aliens who come to earth and bring world peace. however you learn the aliens bring world peace in a conspiracy to transcend humans into energy so that humanity could become one w/the overlord (a being of pure energy). eventually all the children born appear brain dead harboring both telepathy and telekinesis. after humanity has perished the children no longer constrained to their physical forms use their telekineses to alter the motion of the solar system. too dangerous to stay the aliens envious of mankind return into space wondering when they too will transcend their physical forms.

this is the guy i say i was named after.
