After a brief, 15-month, hiatus from Livejournal I hereby make my triumphant return to publish the final round of the Seven Nation Army Awards, because I can better express myself in playlists than my mother tongue. Who would have thought four years of higher education could be distilled into a playlist of just eight songs? You better believe it, baby.

I'm now officially a college graduate, having been interviewed by Engineers Ireland on Thursday. It's nice to have a bit of closure on the whole education thing but a little bit scary at the same time. The next step is a move to Galway, where I'm starting my new job with Abbott a week from Monday. I've sorted out a house and car - a 1994 Toyota Corolla - and am now one of those old people who get sternly-worded letters from the bank. I'm really looking forward to Galway - I've only been there a handful of times but I always get a great vibe from the place and I already know a few people there. I'm heading upto a massive party tonight so that should be a good start. I've been up the walls for the last month. I only got a few days with my favourite American ladies, Amanda, Jilly Bean and Georgia, before I'd to hit the dusty trail. It was amazing to see them but I'd love to have been able to stick around for a week. This just underlines how I'll have to take about a month off work some time for a massive tour of the States. Immediately after finishing college I worked as a lighting rigger at the Cat Laughs comedy festival in Kilkenny, which was as fun as ever. Long hours working were always followed with long hours drinking. Some valuable contacts were made behind the bar, which meant I was able to get free drink for myself and anyone in my periphery! After Kilkenny I was up and down the N71, N20 and N18 between Skibbereen, Cork, Limerick and Galway getting things sorted - I covered 1000 miles in the last week! I must pack my bags and make the final long trip up to the City of the Tribes so I'll leave it at that and, who knows, maybe I'll mind myself writing here more often.
