OMG!! I have a LJ still!!!
Yeah, sort of forgot about the whole LJ thingy....
Well in the latest news, I finally caved into my brother's pressures after owning a 4WD for over 6 months now. He would always say 'go there'. I would say 'the car wouldn't make it'. This went on for a very very long time. Anyways, last night after the movies we hit a bit of an off-road area for a bit of fun and to try out the new tyres I just got on it. Anyways, played around for a while, ignored my bro a bit about where to go, and as we were leaving he made a request for me to climb a sand bank.
...against my better judgement, I went 'what the hell' and went for it. Got the front end up, and then got the car stuck on sand with the car resting mostly on the bash plate. No amount of driving could get it out. Did the usual shovelling and pushing etc to no avail. I didn't have my air jack with me, so I could use that to get it out either. We decided we'd try pulling it ourselves with rope - we moved it 10 or 20 centimetres I think. It was looking pretty bleak.
I decided that since it was my bro who got us into the mess, he can get us out. He rang his mate, and he come down in his car and gave my car a bit of a pull out. Lucky I had a heap of recovery gear in the car so we could connect it all up. Used the snatch strap lightly and pulled the car out easy enough.
So yeah, two things happened last night. I said I'd never listen to my bro again, and my bro admitted he knew nothing of off-road driving and won't insist on my trying stupid things again...
... thats until somehow one of us get our hands on a really old cheap 4WD, at which point we're gonna try anything and everything and just use my car to pull it out when stuck.
