The PHILIPPINES-JAPAN Friendship Month had been celebrated traditionally in February. It is now celebrated during the month of July to commemorate the designation by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of July 23 as the Philippines-Japan Friendship Day in the Golden Jubilee Celebration in 2006. Events and activities are organized throughout the month to foster understanding about Japan and its culture and deeper relations of our two nations.
This July, the Embassy of Japan, Japan Foundation and various organizations are presenting such exciting events as Okinawan Buyo, Eiga Sai (Japan Film Festival), J-POP-Anime Matsuri, Karate Demo, UP Japanese Language Month and many more.
Catch the lovable Doraemon, the cute and playful Chibi Maruko Chan, and the 2006 Tokyo Anime Competition Winner The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (all with English subtitles) at Cinema 3, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City on July 26 (Sat) and July 27 (Sun). Screening schedule follows:
