A few late night thoughts

I know this is probably the most obscure time to post on LJ ever, but we ended up coming back to GA tonight, a day earlier than we last-minute planned. V went to bed hours ago, feeling terrible, but I've been catching up on news and twittery feeds. Hope everyone has been well. I have a few new photographs to share, but they don't really do justice to their subject matter.

I can say that the Behr paint - tested on some of the greenhouse windows - will do fine as an exterior for the home. It's pretty much the color of chocolate (and my favorite blanket). The house is currently several crazy shades of blue, and while I love blue, I'm not wild about these shades, and they seem particularly jarring in this woodland mountainside setting. I'd rather the (eventual) gardens be the focus rather than the crazy rambling structure.

Would be in bed, but poor Spartacus is desperate for love, so I'm staying up a bit for his sake. Rumi has figured out how to use the tricky cat door, and now spends a bit of time exploring outside. Bigness has always known how to use the catdoor. So Sparts is in here, alone, for a bit of the time. This does not make him happy.

The lesson I'm learning right now is that some things take a great deal of work and time, even if it doesn't look like much was accomplished.

In any case, we'll be making another NC trip this week. Might even get to the point of taking apart the geodesic dome. We were married in it. Although the marriage ceremony was very brief (~ 5 minutes total, IIRC), and in truth was a bit of a formality, rituals are important and I apparently get sentimental about it.

I'll always feel something like an Atlantan. In the end the city has been good to me. To us.
