We'd been noticing a fatty lumpiness to Bubba lately, and had been worried about his health. After moving to the significantly bigger aquarium, it got even bigger. Did he have an infection? Did he need to spend some time in a copper bath?
After spending some time on the internet, Bubba, in all of eir featherfin catfish glory, might actually be a GIRL. Not pregnant, just differently shaped than we had expected. Muscley-looking, really. Definitely too big to fit into the temple now, but V placed some elodea, hornswort, parrot's feather, hardy water lilies, and a mystery plant in the tank for everyone to enjoy.
Soon we'll add more fish, and maybe some new frogs, when the tank has had more time to "age" - something apparently tanks need to do.
