This is fairly damning. 1985 30 min documentary worth watching (this is a 10 minute clip, containing the strongest arguments - the rest are on youtube as well). A black economist from the Philly ghettos argues that minimum wage hurts workers, welfare pays more than minimum wage and therefore acts as a disincentive to seeking employment, labor laws disenfranchise various groups and create barriers to the business world, poor parents need to be given vouchers so their kids have the option of receiving a better education, and more. It may sound like boring material, but it's not.
