It's hard to say if Ebony really is any better yet. Ray thinks her foot looks better; I see scary signs that the skin is breaking, but that might happen no matter what. I'm tempted to tie a plastic bag around the foot when she goes outside. I may call them tomorrow and ask if that's a good idea.
It's not a cakewalk to give her her pills, but it's not impossible, either. It's harder to get her to allow me to soak the foot in the antibacterial stuff. Tonight I devised a perfectly yummy treat for her, to reward her for letting me do it. I took a piece of string cheese and coated it in peanut butter. Oh my gosh, she was delighted! Just now, Ray went into the kitchen to fix himself a snack, and she leapt up to see if this might involve something for her, too.
I woke up with a stomach bug this morning. Honestly, I started feeling poorly yesterday, but I chalked it up to the weather. Today there was no question, but thankfully it's mostly over. It was nice, however, to be home so I could give my girl some special attention. She can't obviously, scratch anything on her head with the collar on, so every now and then I rub and scratch her face and ears.
I did something today I haven't done in ages. I read a New Yorker pretty much from cover to cover. I've missed that!
Ah, back to work tomorrow! And I'm going to do a roasted chicken tomorrow night. Something to look forward to.
