5 foods I like that you might not

1) Pickled herring.
2) Liverwurst.
3) Sardines. And anchovies.
4) Leftover sushi, or chinese/indian/ethiopian food for breakfast. Cold.
5) 85% dark chocolate.

Are any of these on your love/hate list? Do you have food preferences other people might think are strange? Curious minds want to know. :)

I adore pickled herring. I blame it on living in the Netherlands as a toddler. Apparently I would eat entire bowls of it if they were left in my reach. My Dad told me that I also loved the dried fish they sell as snack food along the beach. He said I would happily gnaw one of them. I guess it's sorta like fish jerky? I wish I had any memories of being there, but what I've got is a love of pickled herring.

Leftover sushi: ha! It is a strange concept but it has happened on rare occasions. I've never gotten sick from unheated leftovers, but they always go in the fridge as soon as I get home so they're not sitting out growing bacteria.

Honey, I'm impressed that you eat straight chocolate. I will eat tiny pieces of 100% & 95% dark chocolate, but I don't like the texture & it's a smidge too bitter for me. Anything below 70% leaves me dubious. The 85% is a compromise that make me happy.

Sardine sushi sounds excellent! Why do you avoid canned sardines? I'm very picky about what brand I'll buy because cheap sardines are just nasty, but Angelo Parodi & Bar Harbor both have good canned sardines. Very tasty on rye bread with some arugula, and possibly a dark mustard.
