random notes about food

One of the really wonderful things about my house is that there are food fairies. Things appear in my fridge. I didn't buy them. I don't even necessarily realize they are there, until I decide to dig through the shelves for something. And then I spy some tasty item, there for me to eat. The ham sandwich I had for lunch today was courtesy of such a fairy. Food is good. Food fairies are very appreciated creatures. Maybe they'll like it if I leave out a bowl of milk? Or is that house elves? *** Inglehoffer Sweet Hot Mustard is sweet, but it is not hot. I was going to buy the Beaver Sweet Hot Mustard to replace my little jar of Inglehoffer. I just discovered they are both manufactured by Beaverton Foods. Now I'm wondering if there's any difference between the two mustards. *** If you like full-flavored olive oils, St. Pierre's California Tuscan style extra-virgin olive oil is very tasty stuff. We got our bottle at Whole Foods, but Berkeley Bowl is rumored to have it at a much more affordable price.
*** What am I cooking for dinner tonight? There are potatoes that need roasting, but I'm not really in a potato mood. I see a trip to the store in my future.
