I want to update but I don't want to focus enough to write the entries that need writing. Perhaps tomorrow I'll have that much of a brain.
For tonight, I'll just mention that I spent the afternoon at the beach &, despite the Santa Cruz fog, am now trouncingly sunburned on my shoulders and upper arms, & lightly sunburned else-wheres. On Tuesday or Wednesday I'll be heading out on a camping trip for a few days, not yet sure where. (Previous plans involved going to Southern CA this weekend, but that's been scratched, so I'm figuring out new plans now that I can take a moment to breathe).
Also, despite having a bag full of books to read, as I cut through
the book store to use their bathroom before heading to the beach I somehow purchased
Kathy Reichs last mystery,
Monday Mourning. I think my justification is that it was in the used section, and that if I decide not to keep it I can include it in a shipment for
Operation Paperback. I read about 2/3 of it while at the beach, and polished off the rest tonight at home. Reichs has never fulfilled the promise I saw in her first two books, falling prey to some of the very common traps that ensnare an author producing a series around one character, but there were character developments in Monday Mourning that give me hope for her newest book,
Cross Bones (released last month).
And now it's my bedtime, so off to bed go I.
