First signs of spring

Well, I just got back from walking downtown and I saw the first signs of spring. Outside of the Federal Building in Ann Arbor there was a whole flock of robins eating red berries from the trees that grow there. It wasn't quite so bitter cold today and the snow on the sidewalks was starting to melt. I know that the real spring is a long way off and that mother nature is just going to give me a case of seasonal blue-balls, but it was nice to see anyway.

In a week my wife and I are leaving to go to France to visit my brother. I'm really looking forward to it, but we are so broke that it's pathetic. In the words of the immortal Mr. Joshua Wells, We're "Po," so poor we can't even afford the "o" or the "r." Things aren't really that bad, but were using up our cushion and it sure would be nice to be a bit more financially independent. I'm trying to figure out our taxes for last year and for some reason this tax program is telling me that we owe money instead of getting money back. I don't understand because we've always gotten money back in the past and nothing has really changed. I thought Emperor Bush was supposed to be giving us all big tax breaks. Maybe I just don't make enough money for that. I'm going to try again by hand and see if I get a different result. We'll get by... It'll really help if Kat gets a good job. Keep your fingers crossed.
