Interesting book...
I got a secondhand copy of Janet L Nelson (ed), Richard Coeur de Lion in History and Myth, KCLMS 1992. It's well worth a read - essays on the Richard myth in English, German and Spanish, an essay on Eleanor, and one (in French) on Richard in Shakespeare's King John. Gillingham's article on legends of Richard in English is very good.
