climbing trees
i want to blend in, a mix
of uniform beige, brown
greenery cascading between
sunlight stretches…
dangle from tumultuous
arms and elbows
reaching from the omnipotent
clouds to the prairie grasses
lets sink beneath the soil
and feel mother earth
envelop me with her arms
or meet river bottom
with muck sliding over toes,
drowning in her sorrows.

WE HAVE NOTHING LEFT
NO MEMORY
NO TRINKETS
NO SOCKS
DISILLUSIONS
THAT’S WHAT WE ARE
SIMPLE minded beauties
Somehow, you were different.
Exotic, quixotic, new.
But now you’re old
And I’m bored/hurt.
Explode elsewhere. Please.
