I've been silent due to busy. Here's how things are:
Return To Apartment
I called Management Company today to follow up with their estimate that I could move back in today. I was told there will be a meeting tomorrow morning at 10am. Problem 1: why do I have to call them to find out there's a meeting? Problem 2: do they just assume people will take off from work in order to chase after wisps of empty promises? I'm already off work because The Residents are in town, but Management Company doesn't know that. If they waste my time, I may be unsubtle in expressing my feelings.
Where I Am Until Sunday
Rachel reminded me that Sami can sometimes get corporate apartments. So she got me one for the next three nights (I wouldn't ordinarily need to do this, but I have houseguests over for the Rz shows). Hooray for her. I'm right next to City Hall Park. This place is pretty nice, though not the nicest joint, but I will never in my life be able to afford such a place permanently.
The Residents
Oh my crap I love this band. Saw them in Philly last night, and New York tonight. First night I was kinda "eh, not the best I'd seen them" and tonight I was "dude, this is pretty freakin' cool." Tonight I brought along a lot of people because I had an embarassment of extra tickets. Among them was Clara, who left after the first act due to being very tired (I also suspect she didn't like the show, though she seemed much more intrigued and/or interested than I might have suspected). I've been helping with the merchandise table after the shows which gives me a nice warm feeling. Plus it doesn't hurt that I get to mill around backstage as if I belong (even though I clearly don't, but I'm being good and not claiming things such as "yeah, I'm friends with the band, and they want me on stage with them").
