So yesterday the Residents were scheduled to premiere their new internet video series. Everybody gathered at the official website (which has a chatroom) for the event. We didn't know when the video was going to be posted, so we kept checking the Residents' YouTube account and very excitably discussed what could happen.
Also add in that the chat software the day before had gotten a bad update, so everybody lost their "remember me" option, and had to go through some pains to log in. So most people were coming in as unregistered users. So sets the stage for my new hero.
Uregistered user "Hardy" comes on (Hardy Fox is one of the band's managers, and it is not unlike him to come into chat and make announcements). "Hardy" apologizes for the wait and says that the video is now online! And gives a YouTube link.
He Rick Rolled the eager and rabid Residents fans. It was so awesome.
This also makes me want to perform an experimental/metal version of the song at the next Ukulele Cabaret. Good idea or awesome idea?
