Not a dream! Not an imaginary story! Not an April Fools’ prank! Last night, all the backers of
THE COCKROACH STRIKES Kickstarter campaign received the last stretch goal reward. It took a year and seven months, but everyone got everything I promised, and then some.
Thanks to Kickstarter’s new way of displaying successful projects,
you can see the timeline of events that led from the end of the campaign, which netted over 8 times my original goal. Two days after the campaign ended, I was able to give everyone the short story that motivated the campaign in the first place. While the rest of the goals took much longer than I hoped, every single one of them was completed and delivered, from the comics that are now running on
Comrade Cockroach Adventures to the
custom boxes of goodies for the high-tier backers:
As I move forward into my next crowdfunding project,
supporting The Voice of Free Planet X through Patreon, it does wonders for my own confidence to know that no matter how daunting a project like this seems-and certainly successful Kickstarter projects have broken others-I can pull it off. 130 satisfied people who collectively put up over $2000 dollars on the hope that I would do everything I said I would, speaks to that.
