I went to Heather and Michael's 1930s/1940s-themed wedding Sunday.

Here was my garb:

And here, sans jacket, styling the suspenders:

My friend Michelle, sister of the bride, was Matron of Honor, and my friend Gary, who recently become an Army Chaplain, officiated the ceremony, the first wedding he's performed as a minister.

I rented the hat at Costumes, Etc. on Cheshire Bridge Road (Atlanta Costume on Monroe Drive was also very helpful). Had a bit of a crisis Saturday when I realized my dark blue suit wasn't going to work, but a quick trip to the nearby Goodwill Store in Johns Creek got me this suit for $14!

Thanks to jadeintheATL, who loaned me the suspenders. And my sister, who was in town and did some last-minute sewing and fashion advice.

The tie with the Venice scene, I'd gotten in Venice in 1996 but had never worn it.
