(no subject)
A couple of days ago, I wrote a fanletter to Steve Troop. I gushed alot and then I asked permission to quote one of his strips next semester when I do my "dissertation" on my undergrad research. I expected a form "yes" or form "no." Most likely a "no;" you try to ask physicists to cite their studies and the second they find out you don't have a degree they clam up and/or refuse unconditionally.
Mr. Troop actually responded with a yes and offered to send me a high-res copy of the strip. Then, he asked about my research. He was actually interested in what I had to say and when he responded with a copy of the strip, he discussed his thoughts a little. (I've finally liked someone else who likes the name "The Bhagavad Gita Effect.")
Not only is he funny, he's nice, courteous, and loves his fans. I recommend his comic to everybody, even if it currently is on hiatus. Go there immediately! You will love it.
