Three? Four? weeks ago when I did the houseclean for the rent inspection I cleaned up our 'pantry' (is really shelves), and amongst other things, I found:
- SIX bags of raw sugar (five opened);
- Four bags of icing sugar;
- Two bags of caster sugar;
- Two bags of white sugar;
- Two bags of brown sugar;
- Three boxes of cocoa;
- Four almost finished bags of self-raising flour.
The Housemate likes to bake (brownies in particular), and seems to buy all new ingredients every time. I guess the occasions are intermittent, but I also worry re her short term memory.
On Saturday night we saw
Public Enemies (John Dillinger as played by Johnny Depp). Stylish. Liked the look (lighting, suits, cars, art deco). Johnny was good of course. Christian Bale was a bit wooden, but I suppose he was supposed to be. Actual plot was a little light. [KINDA SPOILER (if you knew nuthin about Dillinger)]: It's pretty much "He robs a few banks and then dies". Which I guess is how it was but...it needed something more...character development?
A couple of weeks ago we saw
Coraline, which was screened as a fundraiser for the
Writer's Festival, and which was introduced by Shaun Tan. Enjoyed.
Did I mention we also went to
Avenue Q? Mmm...fuzzy.
Hm. What else?
