[1] Reassures self: "It'll be ok! I'm practically a grown-up! I can manage! I don't need no steenkin back-up!"
- Was in Brisbane last couple of days to prep for upcoming field trip - getting a bit stressed about it. Not sure if we'll be ready. And it won't be "we" for the first week - I may be Just found out for certain that I'll be all by myself until the second week :-S *anxiousness* [1];
- Stayed at the usual hotel, which is quite a nice one, but there's currently a boom on in Brisbane and there was a construction site next door. I was on the 14th floor and they were up to the 12th. And they started with the construction-ey stuff at 6:30am both mornings (the office we were meeting at was half a block away, so I was actually hoping to sleep in till more like 8am);
- Caught up with friend A (must've given her a blognym sometime) Tues night for a pub dinner and checked out her new flat. Is in posh area of city kinda undergoing gentrification, but what struck me was the MASSIVE blocks the houses have there. We passed some very cool old (massive) houses - "Queenslanders" - like big old bungalows, with verandahs, etc.
- Can't believe both kathryn and hom are past 30+ books already *swears at them*;
- Um... come on long weekend!
- Too much work to do. Bloody deadlines. And really need to do something about writing proper papers. Blah.
