So apparently it's
Neighbour Day on Sunday. There're some really easy suggestions:
1. Say G'day to your neighbours;
2. Intro yourself, especially to older residents in your street and anyone who lives alone;
3. Give them your phone number for emergencies.
We have neighbours on one side. I've wanted to introduce myself to them. They're an elderly Greek (I think) couple, and I occasionally see the wife tidying their small front porch/garden. I've waved, I've nodded and smiled, but she seems reluctant to make eye contact (or smile back). I'd quite like to introduce myself, but I think English is a little difficult for them, and I'm worried it's going to be awkward... I really should though. Shouldn't I?
