Went to EXCELLENT last minute gig with CIG last night.
The Dears were playing at
The Prince of Wales. Recognized a suprising number of tracks. Support from
Dappled Cities Fly, who may now be only "Dappled Cities", and were also rather good. Ran into Metro (just back from travelling) who's off to Laos on Saturday with
AYAD (yes, another one!).
Don't think I've mentioned yet that we also went to a gig last week after I serendipitously ran into a friend from The West (who was having yum cha at the same place as Loud, Nyeve, Bunyip, Knutter and I) who plays in
Institut Polaire. I must've been to see them before I moved over here (they were only starting up I think), but I couldn't remember if I'd liked them or not. Happily they were really good. They were actually touring with (supporting)
Camera Obscura, whose name rang a bell, but I didn't know anything about - they were also quite enjoyable. It was a very cute all-ages gig at a weird warehouse next to the train station. No alcohol of course, but they had cupcakes instead (and we went to the pub at the corner for dinner and beer).
