[Indeed, Bernkastel, and said trash can rocks back and forth before falling on its side. The lid rolls off, spinning on its rims for a couple seconds then dropping flat as Makoto crawls out from the thankfully empty trash can.
[Oh it's a person. For a moment she was going to pull on that tail to see if it was real or not. damn]
I would hope you would not. If you're looking for food, there is plenty to find without digging in an empty trash bin. [Except it's her trash bin, and there is no way Makoto could just sneak in and get inside, without her noticing.]
[Makoto bolts up, offended by lowly assumption. She's noticed that something is off about herself and that there's a throbbing pain her back, but she can't shrink back at the accusation.]
For the record, I don't purposely put myself in those kinds of places.
I believe you. Now the question is why are you here, in a place that you should not be.
[She's already noticed the New Feather garb, which makes it obvious to Bern what's going on. But, she may as well have fun with the unsuspecting intruder.]
[Is her immediate answer, because she's not usually the one kept completely in the dark. How did it turn out this way?]
Is this your place? Look, I'll leave right now; I only need to know where this is. . . . And, well, how I wound up here.
[If the girl knows. Judging from the responses she's received thus far, she's leaning on "no" but one should take every opportunity presented before oneself.]
[A light sigh. She doesn't really like introducing people to Luceti - they never get it when she does.]
Fine. I will take pity on you and explain the situation. You should take a seat first. [She says, waving to the living room area with a couple couches and a table.]
[While she most certainly doesn't appreciate the pity bit, Makoto will take what comes to her and since Bernkastel was oh-so-kind enough to offer a seat . . . she accepts it and heads for the couches, where she seats herself on an edge seat.]
[Makoto merely blinks at the sudden appearance of a book from the blue light. Waking up in a trash can in someone's home has had its hand in momentarily killing her capability to feel shock or remote surprise.
And instead, she relaxes -- just a little -- as the girl suggests. She can't afford to put her guard down entirely. Yet, there's no need to be overly stiff.]
[Bernkastel opens the book to a page she has bookmarked - The Guide - and begins to skim it quickly herself, wondering where to start.]
Since we are beginning with the basics I will give you a simplified explanation first: you have been taken to a new universe by unknown causes, outside of your own. The place we are in right now is a closed off place in this universe, called Luceti.
Luceti is an experimental enclosure, where we are all being kept and monitored by an organization known as The Malnosso. An unknown phenomenon brought us to this universe and the Malnosso took us into the enclosure, claiming that they wish to help us return home through a method they refer to as Shifting. However, many people have been here for over a couple years. They do not exist within this enclosure, but occasionally contact us all. We are enclosed by an invisible dome barrier, which no one has been able to successfully escape from at this time.
[After she finishes that portion of the explanation, she looks at the table and waves her hand. With that wave two white tea cups appear, filled with tea.]
It's plum. You should have some. [She'll take her own cup and sip from it.]
The last part is the experimentation. In the enclosure, routine experimentation occurs as a result of the Shifting the scientists of the Malnosso impose on us.
Was that a noise she just heard from that trash can she never uses?]

Things haven't fully sunken in yet.]
Hnn, I'm not doing that again.

We should start from the basics. This is my first time doing this, so you should relax yourself.

Fingering the cup, she looks up at Bernkastel.]
What else am I supposed to know?
