"What do you know about NU'EAST?"
HyunJoong's middle-of-the-night brain was failing to process anything. The caller was lucky he woke up to his ringtone. "What? he asked groggily. "Depends on who's calling."
"It's JungMin, asshole!"
"Why the hell are you calling at three in the morning?"
"I'm on a mission."
"To do what?"
"I'll tell you in person. Are you still living on the outskirts?"
"Yes, but if I see your face before sunrise, I'm punching it."
"Fair enough. See you in about fifteen minutes."
"Jackass." A click signalled that JungMin hung up, leaving HyunJoong to stare stupidly off int o space until he heard the knock at his door. He slid off his bed and wento to anser the door, peeking throught the peephole before slamming it open angrily. "What?"
"Behind closed doors, please." HyunJoong stepped aside to let the man in. "Whatever they stole, I need back."
"So...what exactly are you asking me?" The older man ran a hand over his weary face.
"I'm asking what you know about NU'EAST."
HyunJoong led the younger to sit in his spacious living area. "In regards to what? I know a lot about NU'EAST, considering I'm using their bar to house my operations."
JungMin sighed, knowing in the back of his mind that waking HyunJoong at such incredulous hours was cause for the man's smart mouth. "Security? I might have to break in."
"No need. The bar is still open. Only the backroom is closed."
"You closed down, already?" JungMin was shocked Pledis didn't usually shut down so early in the evening.
"I had an incident. Everyone is on lockdown until I get it sorted out."
JungMin nodded. "Something like this has never happened bofore, then?"
"Correct. I'll figure it out, though. I thought you already knew, considering you were involved in the whole ordeal."
"That incident? You know who brought me back?"
"Yours truly. You're welcome. I let JongHyun know, as well. He seems to have no qualms with me. Don't aske me why."
"Craziness. Thnk you, by the way."
"That's not what you're here for, and I would like to go back to my bed. Look, C.A.P. is no joke. If anything, he might already know you're coming. Don't play into his trap. He's emotionally attached, so if he tries to play you at the bar, he knows. Most likely, he'll be hiding in his back room. It's labeled 'security.' L.Joe is likely to be in there, also. If you hear him talking, wait until it's quiet. L.Joe's mouth only stops for one thing."
JungMin grinned. "So L.Joe is C.A.P.'s 'emotional attachment'?"
"You guessed it. Anyway, if L.Joe is around the bar, you've got trouble. KiBum should be the only one out unless Hoon is feeling better."
"He's still sick? Poor guy."
"Hoon will be sick until KiBum can find a cure."
"Damn. It should have been JongHyun."
"You know that pansy piece of shit wouldn't have even thought about taking that mission. Instead, he sent in his best, and out came this mysterious illness."
"The whole thing was total bullshit. Hoon was sent in on a trap. It was a worthless failure."
"And Hoon was booted from Sherlock so he wouldn't infect anyone, but the reality is Hoon isn't contagious."
"Man, I miss Hoon. They replaced him with our trademark flashy player."
"Oh, dear Lord. Eli replaced Hoon? What a mess."
"For real. The only weapon he can hand with expertise is a katana. He's deadly with it, though."
"I bet he is. Do you need anything else, or can I pass out, again?"
"Go back to sleep. Expect a commotion tomorrow night."
"I'll be waiting. L.Joe won't hesitate to kill you if you lay a finger on his man. Don't fall into that trap. Goodnight, JungMin."
"Goodnight, boss. Thank you, again."
"No problem," HyunJoong mumbled as he shuffled back to his room.
JungMin smiled an shook his head at the man before letting himself out, slipping into the predawn early morning air.
