So, "refamiliarizing" is apparently not a word. Or so says the dictionary.
God, I love the english language. If I utter a sound--like, say, "cromulent", and you can gleam its correct meaning from context, it's acceptable. If that sound then gets a clear meaning attached to it, to where I can utter the word OUTSIDE Of context and it still remains its meaning, well, then, by Shakespeare it's a word!
For clarity:
re fam il iar iz ing: v. The act of familiarizing oneself with a subject one previously had been familiar with.
crom u lent adj. slang: Fine and acceptable.
(WTH?
cromulent gets an entry, but
refamiliarizing doesn't? All I want to know if if I have to put a @#$@!ing hyphen in!)
