Social networks and web2.0

At a workshop about social networking and web2.0. After a brief discussion about issues surrounding personal privacy and online dangers, the panel has moved on to how we can use these tools to build communities in the classroom. There has to be apurpose for using this software in the classoroom. One presenter suggested quick victories and celebrate success. Teach students how to lock down their profile.

I was interested to see the use of Chatzy, a browser based chat room that invited questions from amongst the attendees and those listening online.
