Design a GameMaker workshop

May 29, 2006 21:41

Tony and I ran a good Game Maker training session today involving both Primary and Secondary teachers as part of the Designer PD series of workshops. The final evaluations ranked our 2 hour course as excellent with a minor criticism that it wasn't long enough. I even managed to get everybody registered with our Edna group so it would be good to kick off some post workshop discussions, reflecting how they go using it in the classroom. At the very least they can download all the resources and worksheets that we used for the course.

I was pleased that I had sufficient games in my class gallery to showcase what I have been doing. Most participants had some good ideas about how it could be used in their classroom, especially some staff from the Springvale and Noble Park language centres who were quick to point out that it could be readily used by students with limited English language skills.
