i just met with my pseudo-education adviser and my education adviser. i will be leaving this university next year (by taking about 1 extra class) with a physical science, biological science, chemistry, general science, and ALL SCIENCE, and maybe earth science endorsements. thats right, by just looking around a little and a single independent study course. that means the only endorsement i wouldn't have would be a straight up physics endorsement. and thats ok because id really rather not have that endorsement as it would mean id only be teaching physics. also, i will still have 3 or 4 credits to just have fun with next semester.
but really, an all science endorsement means i can teach ANYTHING. and since i have been getting the physical science endorsement i dont need 12 additional credits of physics to jump up to all science only earth (have easy), bio (have easy), chem (have already from AP and organic). and with this endorsement i will be legally able to teach any science course that i want to. or more realistically any science course the administration wants me to. which makes me INCREDIBLY marketable.
also i think i will be taking an atmospheric chemistry course as an independent study course with dave next semester. i dont know if we have cool enough equipment to make that w/lab or not. but im still reallllly excited about that prospect. my advisor looked at my transcript she told me to just take an extra class for kicks. and recommended a film studies course, along with the professor to take it from. so it will be that or maybe an art course. or there are some environmental courses in the honors next semester that look pretty interesting.
anyway, that was terribly exciting and i had to share that. also, i thought i had 90 credits, which is still a lot. but thats just what i have gotten from drake, including my transfered AP's i have 112. and im currently registered for everything i need at 11 credits next semester. and crabtree and i are gonna set it up so my summer job gets me some sort of bio/earth science and maybe an ed credit.
As Always,
Frederick
