Journalism movies

Ah, how I love my profession. I'm currently working my way through all the journalism movies I own, starting with "All the President's Men," then "Network," then "Dog Day Afternoon" and "Shattered Glass."

I own the first three of those four movies because I bought "Controversial Classics 2: The Power of Media" yesterday, which is an awesome box set containing those three films. I probably shouldn't have spent $50 on that, but I probably shouldn't have spent $7 on Krispy Kremes tonight either. Ah well.

I'm currently watching "Dog Day Afternoon." Young Al Pacino really rocks my socks.

I can't wait until I can get "Good Night and Good Luck" and "Citizen Kane." Those are the next two on my list. Well, those and "Capote." Some say "Capote" is a journalism movie, some say it's not. I'll probably just count it as one.

These movies just make me really proud to be a journalist. This profession has changed the world and will continue to do so.

And in my favorite quote so far: "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!" -- Howard Beale (Peter Finch), Network
