Grown-up

And halfway through work and I had to do a mini-intervention for a very good friend of mine. So, I called him and told him exactly what I've learned thus far. In life, we have to be accountable and make our own decisions. We can no longer avoid being responsible for our actions and the consequences that arise from them. And that it is the choices that we make that truly define us. It's somewhat ironic, but I actually get it now. It took me a while to internalize this message, but I'm glad I have. It makes perfect sense to me. And that at the end of the day, we will have to live with ourselves and the choices we've made. We're all adults now. And the only person who can decide for you is you. Not your parents, not your friends, not anyone else. It's you. So, in retrospect, when I moved to Singapore for all the wrong reasons earlier last year, I wasn't truly doing it for my career. But let's not get into that. I made a decision then, and now I am in a position where I need to make the most out of it. And I am proud of what I have accomplished. I am. Now, I need to really think about what I want to do for my future. I just wanted to capture this here so that one day I will look back and smile. And be like, dammn that's the moment I started growing up and growing into myself. Heh.
