Task 1
The bar charts below show the Marriage and Divorce Statistics for nine countries in 1981 and 1994. Write a short report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below. Write at least 150 words.
The bar charts show data about the civil status of the population in different countries with further classification between marriage and divorce and between 1981 and 1994.
In the first diagram, the USA continues to become the country with highest number of married people between the 15-year period. Most countries show figures as similar with one another in approximately 6 per thousand people and dropped only marginally. By contrast, Denmark is the only country where marriage statistics rose.
In the second diagram, the USA is the most popular country in divorce as a civil status while Italy is the the least popular. A significant increase of the values can be seen in countries such as UK, Japan, Finland, France and Italy. USA and Denmark had a slight decrease in the figure from 1981 to 1994. On the other hand, Germany shows no change over the period.
As a whole, the married population are dominated by the divorced in nine countries.

Children today play very violent games. This must be the reason for the increase in violence and crime in most major cities of the world. What are your opinions on this?Give reason for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.
Children are very active when they are given free time. Due to the increasing popularity of gaming technology, parents buy their children game consoles to pacify energy. The games ranges from action to role-playing types. The most sought-after genre is the online role-playing war games.
The online role-playing war games are rough and violent. A game's objective may vary such as, to steal a treasure from a national museum, to throw competitive kicks and punches to the enemy and to kill and person. The crazier the role-playing character played, the better you are. If most of the developing child's free time is spent on playing on violent games, then what would have become of he? He might still not know how to differentiate reality from fiction. He express his actions from virtual games in real life as criminal action.
In my opinion, the reason behind the crimes committed in the cities are greatly influenced by the violent games. Once a child becomes an adult, there is a need of person to commit crimes because he had been exposed to it before. Fictional games become a reality. The actions of the adults are game-influenced. Those who are poor and are in great need of money will steal because they want something that they cannot afford. They throw kicks and punches if they are angered by a person. They kill because of hatred.
In conclusion, parents must be more involved in the growth of their children. They must guide them to the right path. The parents must teach their child the difference between reality and fiction.
