Okay, I am relatively excited about future prospects so I think I will share them with my LiveJournal.

As you are well aware, concerts are awesome. Who doesn’t love concerts? Anyway, as fate would have it, The Decemberists are playing a show in Detroit on the 20th of May. Of course, The Good Life are also playing a show in Grand Rapids on that very same day. What to do, what to do? Well, luckily enough, The Decemberists are also playing a show in Grand Rapids on the 19th. So, my idea was to head to Grand Rapids on the 19th, grab a hotel, see the Decemberists, sleep, wake up, see The Good Life, drive home and wa-la. Boat loads of fun.

I found a nice Holiday Inn with an indoor pool and a whirlpool which seems to be about 15-20 minutes from the venue, if MapQuest is actually accurate. If we had 4 people it would be around 20/person for the room, and if there were 5 of us it would be about 16/person. With the concert tickets, gas, and food, I think the trip would wind up being about 50-60/person. That doesn’t seem too bad for two nights of awesome concerts and hotel fun. Plus, we’d have some time to kill in Grand Rapids between check out and doors for The Good Life show. I’m sure there’s bound to be something to do in Grand Rapids.

So, Parker has already said he’d go and I’m fairly certain Walters would be game for this as well. Anyone else up? If we need to, a cheaper hotel can always be found. Personally, I am excited at the prospect of a pool/whirlpool, but I am very lame. Let me know if you fancy a trip such as this.

Also, it should be noted that this fun and exciting event would take place a mere two weeks after the Weezer concert, which I would gladly cut off my right hand to attend (though I hear Ticketmaster accepts cash these days).
