Once again it is time for an update. I've been meaning to do this for several days, but every time I make an attempt, the bed starts look awfully comfortable and I must crawl away to pursue lazier activities. Alas, something happened today which ended months of confusion and it's something which must be told.

So, as you may or may not know (I'm not sure if I ever wrote about it and I'm too lazy to check), I have had somewhat of a Cowboy fixation as of let. It all started when I began to have random dreams which took place in the Old West. Then of course, there was the watching of multiple western movies, Red Dead Revolver, and Deadwood. I like to think that there is a greater purpose behind seemingly random actions, and today the purpose behind my Western dreams/fetish was finally revealed.

Today Farmer Jack launched a brand new type of beef. What this beef is or how it is any different from any other type of beef, I do not know. But one thing I am certain of is that this beef launch was the single most important event in recent Farmer Jack history. As such, special events were required. There was a flier posted on the board which promised that if we were to show up for work today, we would be given free steak, pop, potato chips, and various other goodies. It boldly proclaimed that it would "Meat Us There" and "Meat Us There" it did. But this steak party wasn't the only event which the higher ups had in store for us.

It is a well known facts that the majority of beef is consumed by cowboys. It is also a well known fact that vegetarians are not cowboys, and thusly lame. Anyway, as cowboys and beef are obviously share a strong bond, to celebrate the arrival of our new beef, each and every Farmer Jack employee was given a cowboy hat as well as a bandana which was required as part of our uniform today. I am sure you are all dying to see the picture of Paul as a cowboy, so here it is...

Yes friends, I think it is safe to say that today was simply, THE BEST FUCKING DAY OF MY LIFE, EVER. After months and months of random dreams/movies, my purpose was finally revealed. I was to lead Farmer Jack into a new era of better beef and hardcore cowboy motherfuckers. Even after our district manager showed up and informed us that the hats were supposed to be distributed to children, I refused to take mine off. There is no greater satisfaction than realizing that you are a true hero of the West.

So, besides finding my true calling, things have been action packed as of late. The ridiculous band on part-time workers working over 29 hours a week has been lifted, and the hours are rolling in. This week I was blessed with 34, but after Saturday, the Customer Service Desk will be lacking in a Helen, and Paul should be getting 40 hours a week for the next 8 weeks.

Of course, this money couldn't come at a better time, as my car has officially decided to die. It'll still start randomly, but the problem which started three months ago has managed to get sufficiently worse so that I have no idea when it'll start or not. I'm going to take it in tomorrow for the folks to have a look at, but there's no telling what's wrong or how much they are going to steal from me. Probably way too much.

So, fun things. I've managed to see Fahrenheit 9/11 three times in the past week. I actually paid to see it twice, once with Andy Pie, once with Scott. The third time I watched a bootleg copy with Eric and Emma. Regardless of whether or not you like him, Michael Moore is a brilliant filmmaker. The film is obviously biased against Bush, but that's a given. For those of us that even vaguely follow politics, most of the things presented in the film won't come as a huge shock. Still, it's a very interesting flick which everyone should give a shot, especially if you're planning to vote (though most people I know are going to vote Kerry regardless).

I got the first season of Reno 911 for little money and it's been fun to watch. I also got the Nellie McKay CD for seven bucks, which has been a very pleasant surprise. I've been listening to it a whole lot lately and it'll probably be on my Top 10 list at the end of the year.

Went to see Pedro the Lion on Sunday. Very pleasant concert. David's a great performer and a smart guy. It was nice to listen to him talk/play. Also, it's nice to be at the Stick regardless of what's going on. Especially if you're there for a cowboy convention. I haven't actually done this, but I imagine the invites will come rolling in shortly.

Last night I had a fun night with Scott and Turner. We bought pizza, almost watched Terminal, didn't, and then walked around the neighborhood for a long time. We chatted about pretty much every subject ever, from bitches to war; it was a good time and a nice walk. I would certainly like to go for more walks in the near future.

I guess this is all I have to say for now. I think the picture of me as a cowboy is enough to warrant an "OMGWTF" comment. Or something like "OMG SEXXXY." I dunno. Be creative.
