Police/Kitty Update
So I'd called the police officer and left a message on his machine. Later just before I headed off to work, he called me back and left a message saying that he'd just worked 23 hours and was going to go to bed, so all in all he'd just tell me why he left the note and to not worry I'm not going to be arrested or anything XD
Apparently my neighbor must've called the police about her cat (obviously), stated concern that I may have it in my apartment, and if not, it's lost outside somewhere. I had offered to let her into my place so she could make sure I wasn't holding her cat, but she refused *shrug* And the officer did mention that (while he didn't think I had the cat, and wasn't saying I did have it) that it IS a felony to hold another person's domestic cat in your home without their permission, unless you return it, and if I had it, I should return it, and if I don't have it, keep an eye out and keep in communication with my neighbor incase I happen upon the kitty.
I wish I'd mentioned that the kitty didn't have a liscense or tag on his collar, just a jingle-bell :\ Apparently it's illegal here to not have a liscensed cat.
Another Update!
A neighbor girl caught me coming home and she asked me if I'd seen the cat yet, and I said "nope, not yet, have you?" and she replied with "No, but a truck from the pound came and put a note on her door, so I think the kitty may be run over or dead...?" And Tom (who had been with me at the time) added that maybe they instead had found her cat, but he didn't have an ID so... yeah... *shrug*
Yeah, I'm not in trouble, I don't feel soooo super bad, but really really miss the little guy - and am bummed that now I have a neighbor who probably hates me now, and I'm not saying that for pity, I mean she actually is upset enough with me to really not like me (and it's her fault her cat doesn't have a tag, so poop on her for that!) so that sucks for me. Never had a neighbor who didn't like me except for that ONE lady at my first studio who was complaining about EVERYONE and EVERYTHING XP blegh.
