ok... here goes
i went with mike to go get a new front tire the other week and he put it on for me the other day :)
so the day after he puts it on i wake up rediculously early for no reason... and i couldn't fall back asleep. so i hopped on my bike and rode up park and down grove and back up park and down grove again... i have no clue how far that is... but i just needed to try and glue my head back on my neck so i went riding. it felt damn good to get away from the world and from everything that has gone down this week which is more than i want to write in here.
after my hour long ride i came back here... did my usual lifting and situps and took a shower... then waltzed over to class, via my bike because i was just that happy that i had it back to ride again. we got out of lighting practicum at about 2:15 and so me and mike decide to go to belle isle to ride for an hour. yay. more riding :)
we left his place around 2:30, tim's mom came to visit him with his younger bro kevin and they came in right before me and mike left.
we get to the bridge to go over to belle isle and have to go under the big bridge, no biggle, carry the bik down the stairs and get back on it... go down the windy hill (much like the bike path hill near my house in a-town) only instead of narrow pavement, its a little less narrow and its dirt and some gravel. no problem what-so-ever... well... it would have been no problem...
as i start going down the hill i hit my back brakes so i don't fly down it... and my back brakes dont do anything. hm... ok... use the front brakes a little and swerve down the hill so that i don't fly and kill myself... only thing is, is that while i was swerving my back tire slips out from under me and i try to correct it by turning hard left and easing on the front brakes. i end up soaring over the handlebars to the right while the bike goes left. fun fun. right as i was standing up i yelled out to mike, jokingly "mike... you have to come back and fix me..." my chain wrapped itself around my pedal twice and i fixed that... by this time mike realized that i wasn't behind him anymore and came back.
"what'd you do?!"
i told him
"are you ok?"
"yeah, i think so... my chain looked like it might have been screwed up but its not"
i looked at my gloves... they were brand new... never worn... good... they wern't ripped... but why is my pinky finger going to the side like that... so i touched it and it sorta flopped to the right... fingers arn't supposed to move side to side.
"i think i broke my finger"
"i broke you! now i feel bad..."
"you didn't break me... my back brakes broke me"
so we turned around and headed back... mike walked my bike up the hill and i carried it up the stairs because im stubborn and then we biked over to the shop so that i could tell kevin that i did something to my finger and that i wouldn't be able to be in the shop because i was going to student health to get my finger checked out... then we biked over to student health... mike went to go kill himeself by doing uphill raining on riverside i think and i went into student health. surprise surprise... immunizations have created a GIGANTIC line... i check in and look for a place to sit and someone says my name... and its hope-face! i didn't see her because she was sitting behind a plant... but it was nice to sit with someone and not sit there in silence. while sitting there i called my mom and my dad... let them know what i did to myeslf... and then i got a call from tim. "what did you do to your hand?" evidently dave had told him when he got to shop because i hadn't planned on calling to tell him till later. i told him to tell one of the stage managers that i was broken and that i was going to do everything in my power to be back for the play that night... he did... and i told him that i'd call him when i knew what was wrong with my hand. i got called back soon after hope did and i got a splint... whoop-de-do. they gave me paperwork to go get an x-ray and ta-da, i left. fun. called alex to see if he or bryan would take me down to MCV... i spend too much time down there...
we got down there 15 minutes too late to get an x-ray... i hate radiology... so i got to go back friday morning at 8 a.m.
i made it back in time to spend 10 minutes in the shop and get some food. funny thing is when i walked over to the overhead door the first person to say anything to me was tim's younger bro kevin...
"what the fuck did you do to your hand?"
"i think i broke it"
"that was stupid... well at least you didn't cut the tip of your finger off" shows me his finger...
"yeah, i know how to use a table saw"
"did tim tell everyone?!"
after this pretty much everyone else looked at me and shook their heads... asked what i did and how i did it... lots of fun telling the same story five thousand times. the show went well. i got to see ashby! yay!
so the next morning i went to MCV via bus and got the x-ray... learned that it wasn't broken at 1:30 when i went back to student health... but that i had in fact stretched a ligament which is why it moves side to side. great. peachy. i asked for a better splint and went on my merry way to be late to a lecture mandatory for all design tech majors. yay masks... such a BS lecture... the dude teaching how to make masks was plain ol' just not interesting... his masks were tho. we sat there the whole time and took everything the guy said the wrong way and laughed to ourselves.
so there... thats only a teaspoon of what has gone down this week. this week has been pretty craptacular...
