"As you lose the argument in a cable car,Hanging above as the canyon comes between"
Think about it...if you lose an argument that you never had a chance of winning in the first place and you're inside a cable car...what happens. you just coexist. you can't run, you can't hide, but you still can't admit that you lost. So you simply hang in the air above a canyon...knowing that you left her on the other side.
He's stuck in the middle, but she's comfortably on the other side. He can't stop thinking about her when he really needs to forget her and concentrate on the task at hand.
he'd simply rather not have to deal with the truth as opposed to dealing with what he knows is coming. Simply doesn't want to believe that nothing is wrong. He wishes they could pretend until it all works out, but terrified because maybe its not the right thing to do. So he forces the situation to be as irreperable as possible! Just so he can stop living in the middle
"Suddenly, I become part of the past, the part that dont last. I'm losing you and its effortless"
