watching someone die

Jan 26, 2009 11:39

I saw someone get killed on Saturday.

At a Monster Truck Rally.

The mood went from frenzied euphoria to silent horror in a split second. A body on the ground. His leg snapped backwards under him, a pool of blood forming slowly under his head. He did not move.

You become more aware of your body, being a distant spectator to something you can neither prevent nor help with. I became suddenly embarrassed of my previous joy. My face was hot, and i could feel a sort of ashamed grin on my lips. Parents covered their children's eyes: carried them down the stands
don't look, mi hijo.

squealing feedback, they picked his headset off the dirt. show's over folks, thanks for coming out. goodnight.
