Chocolate Box 2016 Letter

Dear Chocolate Box Writer,

Hi! Thank you so much for writing for me! I'm sure I'll love whatever you come up with.

I'm PS, and I'm The_Plaid_Slytherin on AO3.

General Likes/Dislikes

I love plot, PWP, and anything on the spectrum in between. I like fluff, wooing/courtship, domesticity, hurt/comfort, loyalty, and characters taking care of each other or depending on each other (especially if the usual/assumed carer/caree roles are flipped... I LOVE a good role-reversal). Either getting-together fic or established-relationship fic is fine with me. Quiet private moments, big (or small) demonstrations - it's all good.

About smut: I love first times where they're just learning what makes each other tick and established relationship where they already know, tenderness/touching/kissing, and a focus on the characters' feelings, especially if they are finally getting to have sex after a long time of wanting it. I also love teasing and dirty talk, but overall, my preferences run to the less kinky.

My dislikes include darkfic, graphic violence, overwhelming angst, character death, rape/non-con, incest, underage sex, AUs that are another setting (e.g., modern times, they're all pirates), crossovers, and sad or hopeless endings.

A Song of Ice and Fire

Stannis Baratheon/Davos Seaworth

I have a loyalty kink a mile wide and it's really on display with these two. The devotion, the support... I really love unlikely pairs and I think these two count - nobody really appreciates Davos like Stannis does and nobody really knows Stannis like Davos does. I would love to see something where that appreciation is on display - maybe something happens that makes Stannis realize what Davos means to him and he decides to do something about it. Other possibilities: a reunion, something exploring their early relationship and how that appreciation developed in the first place. Stannis could have easily sent Davos on his way and he didn't. Why?

One more thing I will note for this fandom is that I have only read the books, so please no show events/characterization/whatever.

Stannis Baratheon/Ned Stark

This is a pairing I have a fascination for since it seems like it could work very well... provided we saw them interact! It isn't hard to imagine how they could have, though, before or during the Rebellion, or you could go AU (and I would enjoy that loads!). They fascinate me because they've both got this commitment to justice, so it seems like it must have been Robert, or other circumstances that came between them. (And why does he even put up with Ned if he can't stand boring old Stannis?) I would love to see them meet and realize that, hey, maybe they do get along (and more...) after all!

One more thing I will note for this fandom is that I have only read the books, so please no show events/characterization/whatever.

Battlestar Galactica

William Adama/Saul Tigh

These two are just so comfortable together. I have a thing for ships where one half has "saved" the other (in case you couldn't tell) and I love how it seems like Saul will never be done repaying Bill for all he's done for him. I love that other people don't "get" what they see in each other, but they'll always be there for each other regardless. There are so many possibilities for setting here - their early days on the freighter, their time as pilots after Bill gets Saul back in the Fleet, Valkyrie, Galactica both early and late days, the aftermath of the attacks, New Caprica, Earth 2.0 - I would love anything with these two! My favorite moments on the show were the ones with them just hanging out together; I love their easy relationship with its undercurrent of support.

Harry Potter

Albus Dumbledore/Horace Slughorn

This is an old love of mine and Horace is such an unappreciated character. He's so multifaceted, and so is Albus, so thus, I think their relationship is a fascinating one. They clearly go back a long way - how did they meet? Canon's a bit unclear about their relative ages and when they began teaching, though they probably weren't at school together. There's a long stretch of history covering most of the twentieth century (if not beyond) and I'd love to see any part of that fleshed out. And then there's HBP - I almost don't blame Horace for what he's done, since he's obviously spent the past half-century filled with shame, fear, and guilt. All we get is Harry's take on the matter and not either of theirs so I would love to see that fleshed out.

Harry Potter/George Weasley

George is my favorite of the twins. He strikes me as the more perceptive and sensitive one, so he's the one I like paired with Harry. I would love to see something post-war - both of them going about their lives, dealing with their losses, and finding a way to heal together. For this, I would prefer an AU that ignores the epilogue (or any post-canon information about the characters' futures) and don't want to see Harry leaving Ginny or anything - I love their relationship, too, so if they just never got back together after DH in this 'verse or something, that's fine. Maybe Harry tries to help George out and something develops between them as they both recover from their experiences. (Did I mention I love hurt/comfort?)
