Thirty Days of Fandom Writing: Day Four
4: Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?
I guess it's whatever character I'm currently obsessed with? I've definitely had the experience of Saul nosing his way into fics where he wasn't supposed to be*. That's... probably why he's in most of them. It's too early to tell if Stannis is that character. He probably will prove to be, though. And I'm okay with that. I have my OTPs, obviously, but I think I'm much more of an OTC writer, style-wise, because I tend to spend time lavishing attention on one half in particular. And it's whoever needs love the most.
* But, you know, he really worked there. So I think it's less of a case of characters nosing in and more that I love them so much that I can see where to put them to make them really useful. I really enjoy being able to see the use of some overlooked characters *coughHoracecough* I guess that's my Thing. Everybody needs a Thing, and that's mine.
