They say that being hanged in the morning concentrates the mind wonderfully. I imagine that what it mainly concentrates it on though is the fact that you are being hanged in the morning. A 7:30am phonecall from your mother saying that she is arriving tomorrow, a week ahead of when you thought she was visiting, also concentates the mind wonderfully

Pizza/ambulance ...

... I guess I've been unlucky then, the only time I needed an ambulance to my house it was there in under 10 minutes, while the fastest pizza delivery has taken 20. And the pizza place is closer to my house than the local ambulance station!

Otherwise, yes, that's Britain, just like our language (and the British Museum!), we have gone around the world and brought back whatever we liked and called it ours! :-)

I've not needed to order an ambulance where I am now, but in Royston pizza took about 20 minutes and so did an ambulance. The only difference was that you couldn't get a pizza at 4am.

20 minutes for a pizza? It takes most places I know longer than that to cook it. I haven't tried the Royston ones, though...
